Message from the President

Namaste, It is a matter of great pride that neurosurgical care in Nepal has witnessed remarkable growth over the past years. The number of neurosurgeons, neurologists, and allied neurological subspecialists is steadily increasing, reflecting both the expanding capacity and the growing commitment within our medical community. Today, access to emergency neurosurgical services has significantly improved, with most major cities now equipped to provide timely and life saving care. This progress marks an important milestone in strengthening our national healthcare system. However, our responsibility does not end here. The next phase of development must focus on expanding neurosurgical services beyond urban centers, ensuring equitable access across all regions of the country. Strengthening neurosurgical facilities in government hospitals, in close coordination with the Ministry of Health and relevant stakeholders, is essential to achieve this goal. Equally important is our commitment to adopting up to date technologies and advancing clinical practices. Continuous training and skill development for young neurosurgeons must remain a priority, fostering a new generation of competent and confident professionals. Furthermore, collaboration with allied neurological subspecialties will enhance multidisciplinary care, ultimately improving patient outcomes. Alongside clinical excellence, we must also emphasize research, encouraging innovation and evidence-based practice tailored to our national context. As we move forward, NESON remains dedicated to advancing neurosurgical care, promoting academic excellence, and ensuring that quality neurological services reach every corner of Nepal.
